Life: Getting Older Never Looked So Expensive

Monday, December 22, 2008 Posted by Unknown No comments
December 22nd...3 more days until christmas, and I am now hunting for one more person's gift (my father). He isn't difficult to shop for or anything, but after going to Valley Fair and Santana Row for the second time in about 3 days, I've realized how expensive growing up has become.

My reference point is high school and buying gifts for Christmas back then. Best friends? about $20 and then the lower tier friends? like $10-15 nothing to ridiculous, and I never bought a gift for the parents or any family members.

But after checking out the damage on my card, I've learned that growing up, having a job, and being an adult is a pricey thing. I'm expected to get more elaborate gifts (elaborate = expensive ><), and it isn't a bad thing or anything. I love my friends and family very much and showing them my appreciation in a little gift is something I like doing.

But I'll just say this...if my 10 year old self knew how much money I spent on OTHER people and not buying games or comic books for myself, he would punch me in the balls and run off with my money.
