Wondercon 2010: Cool Happenings

[Just in a blogging mood today I guess]

-Talked to David Finch. Super nice guy and chose to miss out on lunch Saturday to try and sketch as many pieces for his fans as possible. That gesture alone puts him at the top of the list for nicest guy at the con.

-Ethan Van Sciver on Friday was denied early entry into the Exhibit Hall by a guard at the door. He didn't have his exhibitors badge only his Pro and guest badge, but apparently, that wasn't enough. Pretty ridiculous that the guy that drew the cover of the Wondercon booklet was denied. I understand not everyone knows the big name people, but you need to at least READ THE BOOKLET to know who not to treat poorly.

-Darwyn Cooke draws sooooo fast and so well. His pieces at the CBLDF Live Art Jam sold like mad and they were absolutely stunning.

-Amanda Conner, as usually, is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. This time around, I actually got to talk to Jimmy, and he gave me some really great writing advice. Books recommended by Jimmy Palmiotti: Stephen King's On Writing [or was it Bag of Bones...] and David Lynch's Meditation.
