Life: Where the Hell Have I Been

The blog hasn't been updated in almost a month, and that's something I can't really make up for in one post because there's a lot of things going on in my life right no. However, I'll do my best to update you guys on the life of this struggling comic book writer:

- It's Winter Quarter 2011 right now at UC Davis, which means I'm one quarter away from graduating and entering the job market. I'm really not sure what will happen once I get out there, but I'm going to follow Marjorie Liu's advice and go for the dreams that I've set up for myself. That means after graduation, I should be heading back to New York, and like all English majors, applying for anything remotely related to my field. Don't be surprised if a salesman by the name of Chris Tung asks you if you want to buy some insurance or take a survey. Food, beer, and bills aren't cheap especially in the Big Apple.

- On the writing end, I submitted a screenplay, Memories, to the Ivy Film Festival. It's a short story that I won't go into too much right now, but if it gets chosen for the semi-finals and/or wins any awards at the Festival maybe I'll post it up here for people to read? We'll see. But for now, I just want to give a huge shout out to the people that helped with the creative process: My dad, Stephanie Wu, Kevin Oswald, Rahul Krishnan, Brittany La, Tope Adebanjo, Andrew Joustra, Zack Rosenberg, and finally, my co-pilot, Ivan Lubomirsky, for helping me with every aspect of Memories.

- Colored pages for God Among Men are coming in, and I wish I could throw some up on the blog. However, things are still being looked at by my editor so nothing can go up until things are finalized. For now, I'll just say that coloring is an art in itself. It is so much more than adding red where the lips should be or blue where the sky should be. A good colorist can give your piece so much life. GAM would only have been a fraction of what it is if I didn't have my amazing team.

- Books I'm reading or want to recommend right now: Strange Tales, Shortcomings, Children's Crusade, American Vampire, Age of X, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Wolverine and Jubilee.
