Movies: JGL to Play Alberto Falcone

Variety has recently gotten the scoop on Joseph Gordon-Levitt's role in Nolan's next Batman film--The Dark Knight Rises.

According to the article, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Alberto Falcone, son of famous mob boss Carmine Falcone who we saw in the first Batman film. What makes this so interesting is that this would creates a common thread throughout all three films. Although Nolan is keeping a lot of information heavily guarded, I would argue that by adding Alberto Falcone, who eventually becomes The Holiday Killer in Loeb's The Long Halloween, we'll get to see how the world changes when a superhero like Batman is introduced. In the first film, crime was running rampant and so Bruce donned the cowl and become the hero the world needed. In The Dark Knight, we saw how the game changes once the world sees a masked man fighting crime, and villains will escalate their strategy and become characters like The Joker or Two-Face. Going into the final film, I predict we'll see how the the over-the-top lives of superheroes and super villains can push normal characters like Alberto Falcone or Selina Kyle into becoming their own form of masked hero/menace. But that's just a guess.
