New York: Help Me Design My Room

Friday, August 05, 2011 Posted by Chris Tung , , 2 comments

This is how my room currently looks in my apartment. I'm really strapped for cash right now so it only has the basic things I needed. However, things are looking good, and I'm starting to think how I want to design my room because I'm becoming more of a grown up and I can't have my room being terrible.

With that in mind, here are three designs I've come up with that add a few objects to the room and move things around to maximize space, comfort, or general hominess.

Template 1

This layout moves the bed closer to the first door, moves the desk closer to the window, and the bookshelf to where my closet is [that second door and the 2 cell space off to the side.

Template 2

This one keeps everything in the same spot but adds a two night stands, a recliner, and a dresser.

Template 3

Lastly, this moves things a bit but only adds in 1 night stand and a full size dresser. I couldn't really find a space to practically incorporate another chair so I just took it out.

PLEASE let me know what you think by commenting. OR, if you're a better designer than I am, run with the required items from the first photo and go crazy! If you do, I'll follow your twitter, blog, tumblr, or give you my first child. Whichever is easiest.

Hehe. This is a nice room design. Templates 2 and 3 are my picks. Try using bigger windows to make the room look more comfy and stylish. I hope my tip helped.
